Launched in 2023, Spirited Neighbor is the formal evolution of Heaven Hill’s longstanding investment in West Louisville—a neighborhood historically shaped by economic and environmental inequities. The initiative builds on more than $2 million in community investment prior to launch, with an additional $1.5 million committed through 2028. As part of the program's development, I helped reshape the company’s community strategy from reactive to relationship-driven, following earlier neighborhood tensions surrounding past facility projects. I led the storytelling and stakeholder engagement strategy, partnering with trusted local organizations and civic leaders to build trust through transparency, consistency, and shared purpose. Communications emphasized economic empowerment, mental health, and education—all rooted in the voices of those already doing the work. Today, Spirited Neighbor stands as a model of place-based, values-aligned corporate citizenship and is recognized locally as a long-term commitment to showing up better.
